A government entity in Qatar is looking for a
Technical Administration position that typically involves assisting with technical administrative tasks in marine industries.


Responsibilities'
Oversee and handle document control for both hard and electronic documents/reports.

  • Assist the technical superintendent with generating and filing the technical reports.
  • Provide Shipyard administrative support to Technical Team, from initial Scope of work and job specification creation, supervision of refits through creation of the weekly refit reports, to reviewing the final work completion reports.
  • Processing of Warranty Claims
  • Communicate with subcontractors, Insurance company, Management, company, internal Departments and crew to provide feedback to the designated Technical Superintendent.
  • Project Action Tracking.
  • Generate and file Minutes of Meeting for each Technical Meeting.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for space planning, colour schemes, material selection, and overall design concepts.
  • Work closely with Technical Team to understand project requirements, owner preferences, and design objectives.
  • Create sketches, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings (a plus) using AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit.
  • Assist in selecting appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment based on design specifications, budget constraints, and owner preferences.
  • Prepare presentation materials, design proposals, specifications, and construction documents to support the design process and facilitate project execution.

Qualifications:


  • Completed a bachelor's degree in yacht or interior design/architecture.
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written. Arabic can be an added advantage.
  • Experienced administrative background.
  • Creative and outofthebox thinker.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or any other 3D design software as well as Microsoft office, particularly MS Projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and plan to meet tight deadlines to achieve required target.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for design.
  • Understanding of universal design principles and yacht building codes.
