Purpose Statement

  • Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for assisting the HOFA in managing the department and assisting in various management reports related to Management and local authorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaison with Finance personnel of the subsidiaries for collating necessary information and coordinating with auditors, consultants and external parties.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Establishing the procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities, in order to ensure safekeeping.
  • Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of employees in the department
  • Review collection reports to determine the status of collections and the amounts of outstanding balances.
  • Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment
  • Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
  • Maintain banking relationships.
  • Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure
  • Arrange for equity and debt financing
  • Manage the preparation of the company's budget
  • Report to HOFA on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances
  • Assist HOFA in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.
  • Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, and boards of directors.
  • Prepare operational and risk reports.
  • Analyse and classify risks and investments to determine their potential impacts on companies.
  • Involve and recommend in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
  • Review the performance of the company divisions and report on key issues
  • Assist in evaluating financial reporting systems, accounting and collection procedures, and investment activities, and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions.
  • Create additional analyses and reports as requested by HOFA
  • In charge of Accounts payables - Ensuring Urgent payments are done on time -Reconciling the major supplier accounts on monthly basis and resolving the issues.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Chartered Accountant
  • A minimum of 5 years in Financial analysis / reporting (or) Audit Firm post qualification.
