I’m a Mechanical Engineer with 6+ years of experience in fire protection design, focusing on sprinkler systems, clean agent systems (NOVEC/FK-5-1-12), and basic Fire & Gas detection system support.

I’ve worked on a range of technical design projects including hydraulic calculations (using ELITE), fire pump room layouts, material submittals, and compliance drawings per NFPA standards.

Currently, I’m contributing remotely as a freelancer to the parent company of my employer, supporting a Fire & Gas detection system upgrade project for Q-Chem (Qatar Chemical Company). While I’m not directly involved on-site, I provide technical inputs for layout verification, drawing preparation, and documentation updates—stepping in to support site visits when design issues arise.

1. Led and managed multiple projects across commercial and industrial sectors, overseeing the review of Material Technical Submittals (MTS) for fire fighting and suppression systems, ensuring technical compliance with project specifications and client expectations.

2. Directed the full-cycle design and execution of fire protection systems, resolving complex design issues and implementing optimized safety solutions tailored to project-specific risk levels and regulatory requirements.

3. Oversaw the preparation and submission of material submittals for critical components including fire pumps, valves, ZCVs, landing valves, piping, hose cabinets, fire hydrants, extinguishers, and sprinklers—ensuring approvals from consultants and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

4. Managed the production of shop drawings in line with IFC and Defense of Civil (DC) drawings, maintaining strict adherence to NFPA, QCDD, and other relevant international fire safety codes using AutoCAD and Revit.

5. Supervised hydraulic calculation teams in performing head loss assessments, pipe sizing, and pump capacity selection using ELITE Fire and TYCO software for both water-based and gas-based suppression systems (FM200, NOVEC 1230).

6. Maintained cost control and quality alignment by ensuring all design deliverables—including calculations, drawings, and MTS—were within budget and met stringent performance criteria.

7. Directed the design and coordination of various fire protection systems including sprinkler networks (wet/dry), standpipes (FHC/LV), pump rooms, clean agent suppression (FM200/NOVEC 1230), deluge, and pre-action systems across multiple concurrent projects.

8. Acted as the primary technical liaison with clients, consultants, and contractors, proactively managing change requests, clarifying specifications, and ensuring successful execution of all fire protection works with minimal revisions.
