حول Habeebah Patel:

As a teacher with 8 years experience in a Primary school setting, I feel as though I would be well- suited for the role of Primary teacher at your school. Please find my Cv attached.

I believe that the skills and experience I have gained as a Primary school teacher have prepared me for this role, and I am convinced that I will be a significant asset to your team. I have taught core subjects Math, English and also foundation subjects following the national English curriculum to students ranging from Year 1 -6. I also have a lot of experience and training when it comes to teaching phonics to help children learn how to form their letters correctly, read and spell. During my time teaching I carried out many Guided reading and individual reading sessions and also provided extra support for children not meeting the expected targets for that age range.

My role included planning engaging lessons, creating a positive learning environment , and effective classroom management. As part of this I had to liaise with parents, teachers and other faculty members, which required me to  develop skills in verbal and written communication. I had to ensure that I was well aware of the ability and mannerisms of my students and what they responded well to.

I believe that an outstanding lesson is one where children are well behaved and focused throughout the lesson and are challenged well according to their individual ability. Furthermore a lesson where you can see clear progress from the beginning of the lesson to the end. An outstanding lesson is where a teacher recognises when to scaffold learning and offer support and when to stretch and challenge her pupils whilst also making sure the activity is differentiated well. Finally I believe an outstanding lesson is where students are given descriptive feedback and they understand and respond to that feedback to improve their work.

I've had to overcome obstacles along the way, such as teaching a Year 6 class and preparing the students for their SATs. I overcame this by working diligently to establish an engaging and encouraging learning atmosphere for the students while also preparing activities to promote the importance of mental health. I made sure to thoroughly research the curriculum and the Math, Reading and Comprehension SATS style questions so that I can prepare myself well  and thereafter the students. I am pleased to say that the students performed extremely well in their SATS.

In addition, I have successfully adopted an interactive teaching technique, which has resulted in many positive student outcomes in terms of attitude and work generated. A Key part of my career is assisting students in realising their full potential, which I work toward by identifying and meeting their individual needs. I have also taught and personally worked with SEN children and children with speech and language difficulties by planning differentiated targeted activities for their specific needs. I had planned sensory, motor skills and speech/language activities and by the end of the year there was a significant improvement in their progress.

Aside from teaching I also put myself forward for extra curricular activities. An example of this is when I was made a Fairtrade leader. His allowed me to take on the responsibility of making the school a Fairtrade school. In my role as Fairtrade leader I delivered assemblies, organised whole school events and cross curricular days to achieve my goal. In this role I was able to gain many leadership skills such as critical thinking, creativity and delegating tasks.

As my experience in a school setting demonstrates, I am passionate about education and constantly endeavor to provide the best possible education for the children. I am capable of taking on learning responsibilities and have prior classroom management expertise. I also have the enthusiasm and commitment to make this role a success for me.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in future.

Yours sincerely,

Habeebah Patel
