Project description
The Lusail bus depot includes parking shades powered by top-tier solar panels,
"The solar panels - totals 10,720 units to generate four megawatts per day - plus the power station
as a conventional source of energy, provides the necessary energy for operating electric charging
devices and the whole project at large, in line with highest standards and specifications,"
In addition, the depot includes 217 150-kilowatt dual bus charging devices and five 300-kilowatt fast bus electric charging devices.
Responsibilities:
- Manage communication and implementation of HSE plans, policies and procedures.
- To review the HSE plans and procedures.
- Carry out audits for 14001 and 45001 and recommend the necessary corrective actions and measures.
- Advise, guide and support construction team the implementation of Health & Safety practices both on site and within the office environment.
- Ensure that appropriate Health and Safety training is delivered.
- To work with the sub-contractors to ensure they are continually improving their QHSE approach and systems on projects to reduce accidents.
- To work with other departments within the main contractor and sub contractors in and sharing best practice.
- To establish and implement appropriate HSE measures that robustly collect accurate data on performance, and have targets and benchmarks where appropriate.

HSES COORDINATOR
JAK CONSTRUCTION - Doha
July 2018 to December 2020
The project involves construction of approximately 2.5 km of new expressway. Construction of East Industrial Road between Al Muntazah and West Corridor, consists of a dual three (3) lane mainline on viaduct structure with three (3) signalized at-grade junctions and a three (3) lane collector road system on each side of the mainline. The dual four lane carriageway from Project P010 is reduced to a dual three lane carriageway on the approach to the viaduct structure. Two underpasses and footways and cycle ways also form part of the scheme. Comprising construction of approximately 22km of a new dual carriageway, the new East West Corridor roads will feature five lanes in each direction stretching from west of Barwa City, to Al Matar Street south of the Air Force Roundabout.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Management in developing and implementation of the HSE plans and advise on operational safety matters related to the works.
- Monitor policies and procedures and report any areas where improvement is required.
- Monitor construction operational activities against the requirements of the client's SHES management plan.
- Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g., implementation of new methodology with strategical measure to catapult improvements in the QHSE management systems.

Project description
This project involves construction of Al Khor Expressway in Qatar. Construction of a 34-kilometer-long Expressway, including (12) bridges and crossings. Works include the construction of dual Five lane carriageway in addition to 10 grade-separated interchanges, fast cycling lane and shared path for both pedestrian and cyclists. The highway will link Doha with Lusail, Al Khor and the new stadiums. The proposed upgrade generally follows the alignment of the existing Al Khor Coastal Road between Lusail and the proposed Al Khor Bypass. The tie in between the existing roads and the expressway shall be approximately 300m and should be as per ASHGHAL Highway Design and traffic manuals.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development of the Safety, Health and Environment Plan (SHEP).
- Monitor the construction activities against the requirements of the project’s health, safety and security management plan.
- Provides HS&E expertise and ensures project compliance with Corporate HS&E requirements.
- Provides technical supervision of HS&E performance, qualifications and programs.
- Assist and participate in HS&E training.
- Check safety requirements in the Method Statements and monitor the implementation during construction in conjunction to the Generic RA.
- Check proper maintenance, calibration and operation of all safety equipment.
- Check and ensure that all equipment has been tested by third parties as required and all operators have the proper permits.
- Check the site welfare facilities and ensure that all procedures appropriate to the Works are provided and properly maintained.
- Check and ensure that all agreed safety standards and applicable regulations are observed.
- Assist and participate in site safety training.
- Participate in the investigation of all accidents and dangerous occurrences.
- Always set a high personal example of Health & Safety.
- Monitor the application of all safety requirements by JAK Construction team and report to the HSE Manager any deficiency for corrective action.
- Coordinate with the construction team on all activities undertaken by the civil team concerning safety requirements especially for traffic management, deep excavation, electrical installation and movement of equipment.
