Khalid Dualeh

I am a current student at Oberlin College(Ohio, USA) from Hargeisa, Somaliland. I came to the US on a scholarship to Western Reserve Academy(Ohio, USA) in 2020 and graduated with a high school diploma in 2022. Now I attend Oberlin College where I will major in Computer Science and International Affairs with a minor in Business. I speak Somali, Arabic, and English. I have worked in marketing, managing, volunteering, and networks, and have experience in international affairs by studying how countries work together.

I have worked in customer service for 2 years where I collaborated with a team member to create unique ways for the company to become more diverse and inclusive when it came to advertising the products to different regions in Somaliland. I have also worked in marketing for a year and was the chief of marketing where I would be the bridge that connected the company to its customers. I also worked as a volunteer teacher where I managed a class of 20+ students and organized lesson plans every day.

I graduated from Western Reserve Academy (Ohio, USA) with a 3.7 GPA which has allowed me to get a scholarship to attend Oberlin College. I am currently a first-year who is majoring in Computer Science and International Affairs with a minor in Business. I am also in the Finance club where my team and I handle $200,000 and invest it into certain stocks at specific times in the year. I am also part of the Culture committee where we come up with ways to make Oberlin College more diverse for students of different backgrounds.
