As a former Security Duty Officer with Qatar Airways, I was responsible for many special job duties related to flight security, including VIP flights. I was also assigned a special duty travel involving escorting the Somalia President and his entourage and safeguarding Qatar Airways aircraft on the ground in Somalia, where we conducted access control and monitoring of baggage on arrival, to protect against any unlawful interference. 

In Guangzhou, China and Lagos, Nigeria, I performed security assignments that required me to access and evaluate issues and report back to the managers daily with security measures that would help minimize problems. In Guangzhou I was sent to evaluate the problems faced by Qatar Airways staff at the check-in counters, and in Lagos I was sent to monitor the safety and security of airline crew during a civil fuel unrest where the cabin crew were being harassed by rioters. I escorted the airline crew with local police to ensure their safe arrival from the airport to the hotel. I was also sent to Lagos to assess the safety and security of 10 hotels where the airline crew could potentially stay.  I interviewed the hotel managers and provided a recommendation and justification of a hotel selection for a new Qatar Airways contract.

At Qatar Airways I also performed cargo security checks to protect against theft, cargo pilferage on arrival/departure flights, ramp security operations for U.S. flights, breathalyzer checks for QR staff including airline crew and pilots, handling of arms and ammunition, and vulnerable and valuable cargo.
