I am also responsible, along with the rest of the research team, for data entry, the organizational tasks of the study, scheduling the sessions for the participants, creating, and implementing Gestational Diabetes add-ons that aim to help a sub- group of participants that receive such a diagnosis. I also collaborate with clinicians and nurses to ensure that the patients are receiving the best standard of care. I am also a facilitator in the psychiatry department in Sidra Medicine in Qatar. I was trained in an evidence-based intervention that is based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Psychoeducation titled “Mothers and Babies” that provides pregnant women and new mothers with coping skills and strategies that help them deal with the anxiety and depression brought on by their pregnancy and delivery. The curriculum focuses on encouraging greater engagement in pleasant activities, promoting healthier thoughts, and improving social support. Furthermore, it includes a mindfulness component. I will be delivering these sessions on a one-to-one basis within the hospital to pregnant women who, based on screening tools and questionnaires, have mild anxiety and/or depression and meet the parameters of the study. I am also a Clinical Psychologist extern since March in Sidra Medicine in the department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Women’s Mental Health Service. I am responsible for conducting phone triage calls and intakes, assisting on in person intakes, sitting in on sessions and writing up session notes. I have experience in shadowing and taking part in couples therapy, exposure therapy, CBT, psychological testing and evaluation, and interpersonal psychotherapy.
