Resposibilities:
Understanding Regulatory

Requirements:
Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to permit to work systems, safety, and hazard management


Issuing Permits:
Review permit applications to ensure they are complete and accurate, and then issue permits when appropriate. Ensure that all necessary information, safety precautions, and controls are included in the permits.


Risk Assessment:
Collaborate with relevant departments and personnel to assess the risks associated with specific work activities. Determine the necessary safety measures and controls to mitigate these risks.


Coordination:
Facilitate communication and coordination among different parties involved in the work process, such as the requester, supervisor, safety officers, and other stakeholders


Monitoring and Inspection:
Periodically inspect work sites to ensure that permit conditions are being followed and safety measures are in place. Take corrective actions if deviations or unsafe conditions are identified.


Review and Closure:
After the work is completed, review the permit and ensure that all conditions have been met. Close the permit and document any lessons learned or issues encountered during the process.


Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all permits issued, inspections conducted, and any incidents or near misses related to permit to work activities


Emergency Response:
Be prepared to respond to emergencies or incidents that may occur during work activities. Ensure that emergency procedures are in place and communicated to all relevant personnel.


Communication:
Communicate changes in procedures, safety policies, and regulations to all employees and contractors who use the permit to work system


Reporting:
Prepare reports on permit-related activities, safety performance, and compliance for management and regulatory authorities as required


Conflict Resolution:
Mediate conflicts or disputes that may arise between different parties involved in the permit to work process


Auditing and Compliance:

Conduct periodic audits to ensure that the permit to work system is being followed correctly and that it remains compliant with applicable regulations.
