**Purpose of the Job

  • Ensure the freight operations are running efficiently and effectively guaranteeing customer satisfaction
**Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the relationship with suppliers (airlines, ocean lines, trucking suppliers, packing companies) for proper handling and competitive costing.
  • Monitor the recovery and update for both export and import shipments on the FTS to ensure passing country freight audit.
  • Ensure the freight market is always updated with the latest valid Air Export rates, local origin charges and local destination charges.
  • Follow up with carriers to ensure shipments are received or dispatched as per set schedule.
  • Daily followup with the operations team at the related various gateways.
- (airports, sea ports, land borders) to ensure incoming and outgoing shipments are recovered and delivered to the carriers in accordance to quality policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate between the CMT and Brokerage teams on the status of the shipment's under clearance.
  • Daily followup to ensure all quality policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Follow up with the dispatchers to make sure that all scheduled pickups and deliveries are done as needed.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of corrective and preventive action plans in operations.
  • Adhere to company HSSE, compliance and sustainability corporate policies and standards.
  • Ensuring the effective performance of the freight team at the station.
  • Setting KPI's for direct reports and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Monitor the working schedule and attendance of the staff to ensure proper service during working hours.
  • Monitor the performance of all operations supervisors to ensure all standards and procedures are being met.
  • Ensure developing a successor.
  • Identify and propose training for direct reports.
  • Train, develop, mentor/coach direct reports.
  • Train the operations members on the freight process and procedures.
  • Facilitate the flow of information horizontally and vertically.
  • Follows up on operations supplies and handles the stock management to reduce cost and abuse.
  • Daily follow up on all outstanding duty collections for incoming shipments.
  • Manage the time of all direct reports and outsourced staff to reduce overheads.

Job Requirements (Experience and education)

  • Bachelor's degree in business or any other related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • At least 3 years' experience, preferably in Freight Operation.
  • Fluent in English & Arabic. Additional language a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
