Job Summary:

The Welder/Machinist performs welding/brazing process on parts and assemblies to required tolerances. Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Sets-up and operates a variety of tools to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

Operates and programs machines to complete specific production steps or processes. Forms and shapes material. Operates lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating, metal forming equipment, and profile machines, brakes, and shears. Includes machinists, machine operators, and bench mechanics.

This position is located in Qatar


The Welder/Machinist must perform metal inspections, welding repairs and forms/shapes metal materials to fabricate job requirements as required in accordance with applicable technical manuals and procedures.

Perform other duties and activities as directed.

The welder/machinist will be accountable for execution within the established metrics for productivity, cost reduction, and technology projects to improve machining operations for the Qatar Patriot Depot Program.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Weld components using welding equipment in accordance with blueprints, welding diagrams, and operation sheets.

Ensure work is accomplished with high quality, in a timely fashion, and is compliant with all company and federal regulations.

GAS (oxyacetylene welding) and Arc Welding capabilities

MIG / TIG / OAW (Oxy-Acetylene) / Brazing

Aluminum / Steel / Galvanized Steel


Develop metrics and tracking systems to identify, track, execute, and complete welding projects with measurable milestones consistent with the program objectives.

Achieve customer satisfaction, measured by feedback analysis and other metrics.

Repair/ overhaul components by benching, blasting, brazing, blending, polishing, cold working, TIG welding, or using other required mechanical skills.

Follow established procedures and guidelines to form a variety of simple, manual tasks that form part of a process according to specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage targets, and quality standards.

Performs inspections, preventative maintenance troubleshooting, repair and install on fabrication equipment including controls and instrumentation.

Work may involve any of the following:

setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; or inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints.

Support the Allied Trades team with tool control responsibilities, keeping tools and coordinating the use of equipment. Uses/wears proper safety equipment (i.e., safety glasses, shoes, hoists, and other lifting or moving equipment).

Support and participate in the EH&S programs and activities within the program. Report on all incidents (injuries, illnesses, near misses, spills etc.), hazardous conditions, and emergencies to supervisor. Responsible for performing an assessment of risk of activities, taking corrective and preventive actions.


Basic Qualifications:

Certified Welder (CW) with 2 years remaining on certification (petroleum pipelines, structural steel, chemical refinery welding, sheet metal)

Welding Process Certifications (pipe welding, plate welding, brazing, soldering)

Minimum 5 years prior relevant certified welding experience

Interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.

Able to speak, write, and read English.

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

Certified Radiographic Interpreter (CRI)

Certified Robotic ARC Welder

Welding Process Certifications (laser welding, stud welding, plasma welding, resistance welding)

Experience coaching, training, or mentoring welders

HS Diploma/GED with 5 years of related welding experience
