Restaurant Learning and Development Officer


Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Restaurant L&D Officer to join our dynamic team.

The Restaurant L&D Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our restaurant by designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs for our staff.

This role requires a passion for fostering growth, enhancing performance, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute training programs tailored to various roles within the restaurant, including servers, kitchen staff, hosts, and managerial positions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs, performance gaps, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Create training materials, manuals, and resources that align with the restaurant's policies, procedures, and values.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new hires, introducing them to the restaurant's culture, expectations, and service standards.
  • Lead handson training sessions to demonstrate proper techniques in customer service, food preparation, safety protocols, and POS systems.
  • Monitor the progress of trainees, provide constructive feedback, and adjust training strategies as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve training methods and materials.
  • Implement crosstraining initiatives to broaden staff members' skill sets and enhance overall team flexibility.
  • Collaborate with management to design career development paths for employees, providing clear goals and opportunities for advancement.
  • Assess training program effectiveness through regular evaluations, feedback from staff, and performance metrics, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Oversee the training budget, manage trainingrelated expenses, and ensure costeffective utilization of resources.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation, including tracking attendance, certifications, and progress reports.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in restaurant operations and training, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, customer service principles, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals at all levels.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt training methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Proficiency in using technology for training purposes, including digital platforms, elearning tools, and multimedia resources.
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Leadership qualities and the capability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Detailoriented mindset to ensure accuracy in training materials and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
