    Job Description Repair & Maintenance

    • Ensures all manuals, catalogues, wiring diagrams,guarantee certificates and as-built drawings are requested andmaintained accordingly.
    • Ensures a yearly preventativemaintenance program
    • Takes responsibility for all workexecuted, by own or external craftsmen, on the building, plants ortechnical installations.
    • Provides continuous technicalsupport to all colleagues
    • Assists senior management withthe planning for investment, project and replacement budget on ayearly basis
    • Implements all necessary work proceduresfor preventative maintenance and initiates respective scheduledprocedures. Monitors carrying out of work as well as recording theresults within appropriate filing system. Accordingly provides thesufficient and reasonable supply of spare parts on time.
    • Determines for repair work the priorities and takes care for thequick removing of all breakdowns.
    • Does not accept work,which is not executed as per standards. Passes invoices for paymentonly when the execution of the work is done as preliminarily agreedand to full satisfaction. In case of disputes, involves the GeneralManager for a decision.
    • Carries out regular publicareas, accommodation and venue tours to identify areas with defectsand places requiring repair and maintenance. Ensures that immediateaction is taken for remedy.
    • He/she is responsible forthe storing of spare parts. Sets up an engineering store. Registersall incoming and outgoing items. Financial & Administrationgoals
    • To oversee and manage daily tasks which arecarried out in a professional, competent and cost saving manner.
    • Organization of all engineering administration, stockcontrol and spare part storage.
    • Oversees all policies,procedures, protocols and controls that govern the propertymaintenance operations
    • To manage and control thecompany's budgets to an acceptable and pre-set standard.
    • Justifies all budget and resource allocation decisionsto senior management
    • To ensure that all actions arerecorded and duties to enable continual improvement and minimizerepeat tasks and additional costs.
    • Oversees preparationof reports, such as statistical and data analysis reports, for allengineering processes.
    • Establishes a monthly report ofworks carried out, machines maintained, special events, consumptionof energy and water, etc. to the GM and the Area Chief Engineer.
    • Checks on monthly bases all related expenses from theP&L statement, discusses it with the Financial Controllerand scrutinizes all maintenance expenses.
    • Establishesall necessary facility inspection checklists and technicalchecklists for the whole property
    • Controls and endorsesall invoices for installations, tools spare parts and consumptionof material and forwards them for payment to the accounting.
    • Health & safety
    • To ensure a safe andhealthy environment for all guests and employees at all times.
    • To keep the hotel and its contents in excellentcondition at all times by setting up a planned preventativemaintenance plan and ensuring its full implementation.
    • Comply with all Health & Safety Legislation for the tasksin hand.
    • To manage all aspects of life systemsequipment.
    • Maintain highest standards for themaintenance and safe operation of issued tools and equipment.
    • To work in conjunction with the Health and Safetymanager in ensuring that all Safety, health and environmentalissues are addressed timorously.
    • Manage and maintainrequirements and keep systems in top operating condition.
    • Co-ordination and management of all property maintenanceand upgrade requirements as is needed
    • To manage andensure all maintenance colleagues utilize physical barriers orotherwise guard all hazardous conditions caused during the progressof a job until normal conditions are restored. Replace permanentguards or other safety devices that have been removed from theequipment, before leaving the job.
    • To always maintaingood housekeeping during progress of work by all maintenancecolleagues. At the completion of the job all surplus material shallbe removed and the area worked in returned to a normal, clean andsafe state.
    • Employee Relations
    • Fosters anddevelops effective employee relations within the engineeringdepartment and with all colleagues throughout the hotel
    • Screens, interviews and recommends potential colleagues in linewith the FRHI policies and procedures and assists in the selectionprocess of all staff.
    • Actively involved in assessingtraining needs and develops departmental training plans andsuccession plans. Initiates, executes and/or monitors training ofhis/her colleagues for engineering matters.
    • Conductsannual appraisals for his assistant & technical staff andproduces a development and training plan for the staff.
    • Identifies employees with potential for promotion and/or transferand makes appropriate development plans for him or her togetherwith the Human Resources Department
    • Assists andco-ordinates together with the Security manager proper Fire& Safety training for all colleagues of thehotel.
