We are currently recruiting for a General Manager for one of the most dynamic and exciting leisure venues in Doha.

West Bay beach, under the management of Discover Qatar, comprises 3 absolute beachfront fully licensed venues.

  • Doha Sands, an exclusive and private beach club for in house guests staying at participating West Bay hotels.
  • The Bistro; a fully licensed restaurant, open from 7am until midnight with a capacity of 200, serving light casual meals and also catering for special events, movie and sports event screenings and private groups.
  • B12 Beach Club, Qatar's largest private beach club featuring the largest inflatable in the country, a range of international food and beverage outlets, general admission and VIP sections, a resident DJ and popular weekend brunches.


As a General Manager, you will be required to establish, formulate, and execute West Bay Beach Clubs' (WBB) strategies to achieve operational growth and maximize profitability.

Lead a team of Managers to build world-class WBB Operations ensuring all outlets operate at the highest standard according to the established procedures and processes.


You are also required to provide oversight, monitoring, tracking and high-level management of operational results to ensure a high-level profitability and guest satisfaction will be delivered.


Other key responsibilities are:

  • Plan and execute WBB budget.
  • Manage organizational growth strategy and skills/personnel requirement in line with the division growth.
  • Coordinate & implement new DOA for WBB in line with both business needs and QR company policy.
  • Translate the business strategy into daytoday execution providing direction and focus to deliver results against a defined business plan.
  • Evaluate and improve established and new business services by testing quality standards before implementation. Ensure all prescribed business processes and procedures are fully briefed and followed and that monitoring procedures carried by line of responsibility are robust.
  • Accountable for WBB Service team to guarantee that all staff comply with the brand's identity while attaining financial results and creating positive guest experiences.
  • Provide coordination, direction and contractual oversight of WBB ensuring all operational working methods are reviewed and best practice are achieved to grow business models.
  • Lead the implementation, development and design of the customer service standards and customer service strategy, build and manage a solid operations team to drive sales and promote a truly customer focused working environment at WBB.
  • Prepare and present quarterly results to the parent company.
  • Conduct the WBB monthly performance review with each operator via conference call or on site to produce a monthly executive summary for the division (performance review can include safety, security, customer satisfaction, efficiency, cost management etc.)
  • Effectively lead, manage, coach and develop direct managers directly employed by the division.
  • Survey any potential acquisition, when necessary, supported by a comprehensive report, to guide and facilitate the executive management decision to proceed or not.
  • Continuously maintain business contact and strengthen business relationships.
  • Review all proposed budget with QR Finance team, deliver comments and observations, to ensure a high profitable performance.
  • Develop new SOP's tailor made for WBB based on the business needs.
  • Develop new sourcing opportunities by researching suppliers in the market in order to improve product consistency and attempt to reduce cost.
  • Drive and deliver quick business wins to increase revenue income and ensure budget is achieved.
  • Responsible for the P&L and accountable to ensure all WBB financial metrics are achieved.
  • Review and oversee supply chain to ensure the best prices are obtained through negotiations, set systems and QR procurements.
  • Accountable for the setting of all budgets for the related areas, monitor performance and take appropriate action to rectify variances on a monthbymonth basis.
  • Responsible for the overall security, catering takings, reconciliation of tills and management of floats, ensuring any cash/stock loss is investigated and control measures are put in place. Work within the financial policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Commercially aware and constantly reviewing the external market and making changes to development plans, where necessary, partner with marketing department to ensure brand positioning are carried out as per business plan and company standard to achieve the desired commercial outcome.
  • Partner with crossfunctional teams to explore new channels for the business and inform the brands on product opportunities by observing market trends.
  • Take a lead and support the Marketing department to market and promote WBB.
  • Ensure the food and beverage offer and provision meets guest needs and is developed and expanded in line with changing consumer
