    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacologicalinformation to multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoringpatient drug therapies.
    • Prepares medications byreviewing and interpreting physician orders and detectingtherapeutic incompatibilities.
    • Dispenses medications bycompounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
    • Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advisinginterventions.
    • Completes pharmacy operationalrequirements by organizing and directing technicians'workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling ofpharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, andinspections.
    • Provides pharmacological information byanswering questions and requests of health care professionals andcounseling patients on drug therapies.
    • Develops hospitalstaff's pharmacological knowledge by participating inclinical programs and training pharmacy staff, students, interns,externs, residents, and health care professionals.
    • Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the stateboard of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and thefood and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspection.
    • Maintains records for controlled substances and removesoutdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
    • Supervises the work results of support personnel.
    • Maintains current registration, studies existing and newlegislation, anticipates legislation, and advises management onneeded actions.
    • Protects patients and technicians byadhering to infectioncontrol protocols.
    • Maintains safeand clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules,and regulations.
    • Contributes to team effort byaccomplishing related results as needed
