- Knowledge of attendance policiesand procedures
- Knowledge of the range ofagencies that work with students and theirfamilies
- Basic knowledge of first aid; e.g.emergency first aid course
- Knowledge of a rangeof attendance codes and when they can beused
- Knowledge of many of the social issuesfacing students from disadvantagedbackgrounds
- Three years' experienceof working in an inner-city school or educationalestablishment
- Experience of working withAcademy welfare officer
- Experience of meetingwith parents/carers formally andinformally
- Experience of managing attendancesystems
- Experience in a similarrole
