We are currently recruiting for an Events Manager for one of the most dynamic and exciting leisure venues in Doha.

West Bay beach, under the management of Discover Qatar, comprises 3 absolute beachfront fully licensed venues:


  • Doha Sands, an exclusive and private beach club for in house guests staying at participating West Bay hotels.
  • The Bistro: a fully licensed restaurant, open from 7am until midnight with a capacity of 200, serving light casual meals and also catering for special events, movie and sports event screenings and private groups.
  • B12 Beach Club, Qatar's largest private beach club featuring the largest inflatable in the country, a range of international food and beverage outlets, general admission and VIP sections, a resident DJ and popular weekend brunches.
As an Events Manager you are required to plan, manage, co-ordinate and execute West Bay Beach program of events. Events include annual national holidays, events in collaboration with external stakeholders and companies, international and local conferences, exhibitions.


Also assist with Qatar Airways Group events when required including events where the Qatar Airways Group brand can be showcased and promoted.

The focus of these activities is to provide a platform from which to expand the brand name locally and globally, while protecting the corporate image.


Other key responsibilities are:

  • Develop guidelines and tools to help the events team execute promotional events programs whilst maintaining QR standards of brand presentation.
  • Develop a tool that assists in managing opportunities for crossselling and maximizing ROI through collating all regional promotional activities into a consolidated calendar.
  • Support the planning and execution process and encourage best practice through developing company approved materials and templates that the events team as well as individual teams can use to plan their events and exhibitions.
  • Support in meeting event requirements to streamline processes and, where possible, to eliminate unnecessary expenditure.
  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities to promote the brand through new or extended programs of events locally.
  • Ensure that at every event or exhibition the company's brand is showcased and positioned in the best possible way.
  • Liaise with third parties such as event management companies, contractors, hotels, venues, organizers and suppliers to ensure all logístical and operational aspects of each event and exhibition combine to create experiences that could reasonably be considered to be bestinclass across the airport and hospitality industry.
  • Prepare and secure budgets for each component of an event and exhibition program.
  • As far as reasonably possible ensure that all events and associated projects are executed within budgets.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional with.

  • 6+ years of jobrelated experience
  • Planning and project management
  • Proven track record of developing, planning and executing successful events.
  • Ability to implement decisions and take immediate action.
  • Full understanding of event sales cycles
  • Ability to create network of international contacts and manage relationships.
