Core Functions / Responsibilities:_

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with community members, particularly women, children, and persons with disabilities to ensure their active participation and ownership in communitybased protection activities and spaces.
  • Conduct community consultations to identify protection needs, concerns, and priorities.
  • Organize community meetings and awareness sessions on protectionrelated topics.
  • Facilitate communityled initiatives and promote local ownership in protection activities.
  • Assist in the establishment and management of Protection spaces, such as, women and girl friendly spaces, child friendly spaces.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and capacity building of staff and volunteers involved in communitybased protection activities, including infodesk.
  • Monitor the delivery of services in IOM's Protection spaces, and the compliance with protection standards and guidelines.
  • Assist with development of detailed work plans, budgets, and activity schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including local authorities, community leaders, and service providers, to strengthen referral systems and linkages with other protection and support services.
  • Foster positive relationships and establish regular communication channels with community members, leaders, and organizations.
  • Support and present accurate reports on program activities, including, attendance records, progress reports, statistical and narrative summaries.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience_


Education

  • School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, gender studies, international relations, psychology, or other related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Proven experience in coordinating and implementing protection programs, particularly women and girls' empowerment and child protection activities.
  • Knowledge of genderbased violence prevention, child protection, and international protection standards.
  • Familiarity with Women and Girls' Friendly Spaces and Child Friendly Spaces models and best practices.

Skills

  • Strong coordination, networking, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including community members and government officials.
  • Experience in capacity building and training facilitation.
  • Sound ability to communicate practical knowledge on actions to address Protection and GBV issues at the operational level.
  • Demonstrated analytical, writing and reporting skills.
  • Solid computer skills (MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Basic knowledge of Dari/Farsi/Pashto and Arabic is an advantage.
