A crane mechanic repairs and maintains cranes and other pieces of heavy machinery. Another title for someone in this career is a heavy equipment technician. You perform routine maintenance duties, replace components, and make repairs when necessary.

A crane mechanic can work in a warehouse setting, but often makes repairs or handles maintenance responsibilities in the field.

You run computerized diagnostic tests to assess the condition of the crane and to define problems. You source parts and equipment to complete each repair. After making repairs, you perform checks to ensure proper functionality.
