Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical safety and emergency equipment is in good working order and maintain a vehicle log
  • Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources verifying instruction and routes
  • Report vehicle defects accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicles
  • Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers
  • Obtain customer's acknowledgement/signature on documentation upon pick up / delivering consignment
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting any items especially dangerous goods
  • Communicate and exchange necessary information with office, supervisor or other drivers
  • Perform basis vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs
  • Check all loadrelated documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
  • Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loadingrelated equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary
  • Protect fragile / easily damaged items in a professional way so they are not damaged during transportation
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs etc.
  • Perform job related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualification:

Secondary School Certification


Professional Experience:

1-3 Years of Heavy Vehicle Driving


Geographic Experience:

Must possess Qatar Heavy & Light Driving License

Forklift Licsence is preferred


Computer Skills:

N/A


Language Skills:

Working knowldege of English


Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:

N/A
