Primary purpose of job
Carries out skilled and complex fault-finding, repair, installation, maintenance and overhaul work on all types of pneumatic,

electrical and electronic instrumentation and control/plant safety systems, including specialist work on telemetry, laboratory,

turbine control, computer and alarm systems, in workshop and on site. Responsible for checks and troubleshooting of

various cards/modules of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Fire and Gas

Detection Systems (FGD) and carries out detail work as directed by Senior Technician / Engineer. Guides subordinate

technicians in maintenance routine work and assists Senior Technician in the maintenance of all related files and records

and in the administrative control of the unit, in either of the NGL plants, North Field Facilities, NGL/Storage & Loading Areas

within NGL Complex. Acts as a leave reliever for Senior Technicians.


Experience & Skills
8 years experience in the installation, maintenance, repairs and overhaul of pneumatic, electrical and electronic

instrumentation and systems of various types and serving diverse purposes, and in the maintenance of turbine controls and

solid state/programmable logic instrumentation systems, preferably including a period of formal apprenticeship


Education
Completion of Secondary (12 years) education, followed by 2 years formal full time Industrial training in Instrumentation,

Electronics or similar to Ordinary National Diploma level or equivalent, plus relevant short courses, in safety. Diploma in

Instrumentation is preferred. Shall have good working knowledge of Computers and Computer based Networking Systems.

Fair spoken and written English.
