The Carbon Fibre Composite (CFC) BaySupervisor reports to the Mechanical Workshop Controller and is anexperienced mechanical supervisor undertaking a range of detailedmaintenance activities in the aircraft carbon fibre composites(CFC's) bay. They will demonstrate the ability to derivediagnostic techniques and will be responsible for maintainingairworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisationon aircraft carbon components/panels.

The post holder should be able to demonstrateawareness of broader external dependencies and identify areas forcontinuous improvements.

CoreActvities

• Undertaking detailed maintenance,inspection activities on the Typhoon's CFC components.Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with thework package using the relevant approved technical information.Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness ofconfiguration management
• Undertake and completetasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on theTyphoon's CFC components, which may include, asappropriate, inspections, repairs, modifications, faultrectifications, replacements
• Demonstrate aflexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilitiesappropriate to the role and takes directionappropriately
• Maintaining personal &teams' task authorisation for working on an aircraft orcomponents in accordance with QAFrequirements
• Maintaining a personal Log Book todemonstrate currency on completion of On the Job training (OJT)activities, sign other personnel's logbooks asappropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If you are anapproved designated assessor, undertake authorisation and taskcompetency approvals, and check Pt 145 license application packsprior to submission
• Progress reporting againstdelivery targets to supervison
• Undertakingsupport tasks within the carbon fibre composite bay which arerequired to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures(e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling/testequipment)
• Undertaking fault evaluation andraise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults'during maintenance Ensure all maintenance activities areappropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintainedon relevant systems (IT/paper based). Compile required reporting,identify any issues and escalate asappropriate

KeyAccountabilities

• Performanceindicators – Ensure the effectivemanagement of regulatory activities by setting delivery targets,monitoring progress and developing performance improvementprogrammes. Prioritises activities within / across teams tomaximise efficiency. Responsible for the assessment of escalatedissues for any impact on continuing airworthiness and generatingeffective resolutions, or sponsoring escalation to management, asappropriate.
• Procedure/standards– Comply with the regulatory framework, its associatedprocedures and standards, and any other company procedures andstandards. Identify and propose changes asrequired.
• Safety ManagementSystem – Understand and ensure humanfactors and error management philosophies are applied to allmaintenance activities. Understand the risks associated withmaintenance activities and the means by which they are mitigatedand managed
