Job Purpose:
To assist the Production Supervisor in all matters related to production of quality products at the right cost and delivered within the agreed times, by ensuring that all necessary resources are available & utilized in safe & efficient manner within defined safety & quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Authorized Main Duties:
1.
Machine and Line preparation for production
- Ensure machines and production lines are set up and assembled correctly for production and that the machine startup checklist is completed. Ensure all raw materials, ingredients and packaging are prepared and available to the line in advance of production and that machines that need advance preparation such as the fryer, are switched on in time to be available for the planned start time.
2.
In-process work flow
- Complete all required process checks & record data on relevant documentation and use the document records to manage workflow and output. Make sure product and process specifications are followed at all stages. Identify and solve problems as they arise, informing supervisor of deviations. Give instructions to team members to ensure effective and efficient work flow.
3.
Quality Management and Housekeeping
- Ensure all inprocess quality checks are done according to work instructions. Ensure a neat and hygienic work environment at all times. Ensure that all CCP's are monitored and controlled and all equipment accessories not in use are stored appropriately.
4.
Health and Safety
- Control and use of all processes, materials and equipment in a way that health and safety procedures are complied with. Ensure SOP's are followed and that no unsafe practices are allowed.
5.
People Management
- Ensure that all employees are available on line before the planned start time and manage break times. Ensure that all line employees have the necessary tools and PPE and that they are aware of targets by using whiteboards and verbal communication. Work with machine operators to optimize machine performance.

- Develop professional relationship with QA supervisors
- Monitor process control steps with QA technicians
PRODUCTIVITY:_
- Assist Supervisors to achieve planned volume
- Assist Supervisors to ensure planned start times are met
- Zero lost time safety incidents
- Assist Supervisors to assure engineering downtime to 4% of available time
- Manage staff and output to achieve hourly targets
- Assist Supervisors to assure we achieve 100% of supply plan
- Manage and sustain 100% data accuracy
- Manage production to minimize rework generation
LABOUR:_
- Sustain factory absence at < 5% through close management
- Training plans in place and updated for all staff
- Conduct personal hygiene checks on staff when required
- Monitor staff working hours to minimize overtime loading
ENVIRONMENTAL:_
- Manage utilities in order to achieve budgeted targets as per Supervisor instructions
- Ensure waste is disposed of as per streaming requirements
MAINTENANCE:_
- Develop & sustain positive relations with maintenance technicians
- Report and record all downtime events accurately giving clear reasons
- Deliver preventative maintenance solutions where appropriate
- Challenge maintenance team if PM is not to agreed schedule

Person Specifications:
Education:
- Minimum secondary education
- Food safety certification
Language:
- Proficient in English
- Arabic (Added Value), Asian languages (e.g. Hindi/Urdu)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of food manufacturing (preferably meat) team leader experience
