Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE_:_
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information; update information management systems and social media platforms on activities including awareness and visibility, summaries, press releases and other relevant materials.
- Liaise and coordinate with the private sector, donors, government counterparts, and other partners and stakeholders and contribute to the planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity building activities targeting IOM staff, government and civil society partners, implementing partners and communities.
- Contribute to the development of a private sector strategy and support in the planning and delivery of trainings and workshops for the private sector on variety of issues including ethical recruitment and Corporate Social Responsibility in coordination with the Migration Management Unit.
- Participate in the preparation of project proposals and a diverse range of communication products, concept notes and other planning documents.
- Assist the Chief of Mission in identifying project opportunities based on national and regional needs.
- Pro-actively seek potential funding sources among government and non-government donors, in line with IOM's overall MENA & GCC strategies
- Assist in strengthening IOM internal coordination and information sharing at UNCT level.
- Fulfil evaluation reports and reporting requirements for relevant projects.
- Prepare IOM's inputs and activity reports in contribution to system-wide coordination and assessment mechanisms and platforms.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups, interagency coordination meetings, and other forums as may be required.
- Draft concept notes/project documents to share with counterparts and donors, finalize them for internal endorsement with respective RTS/HQ/ACO/LEG.
- Assist with the preparation of briefing materials for high-level meetings and resource mobilization as required.
- Undertake duty travel relating to project and policy development as required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
- Master's degree in the abovementioned fields
Experience:
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and nongovernmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, nongovernment or government institutions/organization in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
- Advanced writing, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to collect and analyze data on related topics.
- Computer/software literate, preferably knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop with experience of maintaining a website.
- Experience of working in a multicultural setting
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Arabic (Oral and Written)
