Lead of Process is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of Process (including Brownfield tie-in design verification / validation) Testing / Commissioning of the project/s.


  • Ensures that that technical requirements (e.g. basis of design, simulations, reports, studies project specifications, data sheets, etc.) developed during FEED fully comply with project requirements.
  • Process design considers the full production life cycle of the Topsides/Pipelines / facilities as well as Flow Assurance activities for the production and fuel gas pipelines.
  • Provides Process Commissioning direction, guidance and leadership to NFPS Compression project EPC(s) PMT and CONTRACTOR(s) for fieldwork within the assigned area. Develop fitforpurpose process /technical engineering definition of surface facilities
  • Effectively collaborates and interfaces with Project team, Contractor, COMPANY stakeholders (Operations, OES, E&P and etc) as required to ensure that the Topsides and facilities scope of supply is fully integrated and optimized.
  • Provides oversight of the Compression Process team as well as timely review and approval of project deliverables within project budget and schedule.

About this role

  • Provides Process engineering leadership and expertise whilst providing oversight and guidance to the project main contractor.
  • Effective stewardship of EPC Contractor/s and delivers Process engineering and flow assurance design in accordance with project requirements, from contract award until delivery of Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC).
  • Supports Head of Commissioning CP 6\7S in monitoring the Contractor's progress on delivery of the required documents in the Process Engineering and flow assurance disciplines.
  • Leads the development of Contractors Process Engineering and flow assurance activities.
  • Plans and schedules the Process engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with COMPANY operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
  • Provides Process engineering leadership and expertise while supervising and administering Process team. Review and approval of EPC contractor engineering deliverables/ simulations/ calculations, study reports.
  • Performs process engineering and flow assurance studies, calculations, simulations, develop Basis of Design, Technical notes, adequacy assessment to support the project scope
  • Maintains close liaison with appropriate members of Engineering Teams and gains alignment with the Engineering Manager on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
  • Leads key design workshop and ensure that Process design recommendations are correctly implemented, and actions closed (Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect to the disciplines involved in delivery of the Process Engineering and ensures endorsement of Process Technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
  • Ensures quality assurance of the Process engineering and Flow Assurance activities deliverables is in accordance with the approved project execution schedule.
  • General understanding of multi discipline engineering (mechanical/piping/ instrumentation /etc) and ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Accountable for being knowledgeable of lessons learned from previous projects with the same contractor and capturing and communicating Process engineering and design lessons learned for the current project.
  • Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the Contractors design or deviations from the Company directives.
  • Assesses contractor capability and recommends additional technical support to address gaps.
  • Accountable for ensuring execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with COMPANY Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and COMPANY Project Management System.
  • Accountable for knowledge of and sharing previous lessons learned, capturing and communicating current lessons learned to support review teams and future projects.
  • Mentor and contribute to the development of Qatari employees.

What you need to bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering with proven project management and execution experience. Knowledge of procedures, rules & regulation of Qatar will be added advantage.
  • Minimum of fifteen years of experience in the oil and gas industry and preferably offshore project related with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.

  • International project experience with Tier1 EPC Contractors or Client, involved in the projects executing large offshore platforms (i.e. greenfield and brownfield work), pipelines and onshore.

  • Sound knowledge of the project execution process in largescale project environments (expenditure >US$ 1 Bn).
