    KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Raisesany contract related non-compliance issues for resolution wherefailures in contractual governance could have adverse implicationsfor Sidra's reputation, legal and scientific standing.
    Makes recommendations and provides practical legally-acceptablesolutions to such issues.

    • Responsible for maintaining upto date knowledge of research related guidelines and legislationand develops policies to ensure compliance. Provides training andeducation sessions as required to the wider research/clinicalaudience to drive up compliance.
    • Becomes an integralpart of the Research Operations and Services team and establisheshim/herself as the Research go-to contracts person dealing with thereviews of all submitted Research contracts (e.g. CollaborationAgreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Material TransferAgreements, etc.)
    • Advises and providesrecommendations/solutions to the Office of General Counsel,Investigators and other stakeholders on the business side-effectsof the research contracts, and expedites the effective andefficient review to completion.
    • Works with the PIs,finance and legal and be responsible for ensuring that all researchrelated agreements protect Sidra's rights and clarifiesPIs responsibilities as far as intellectual property, data sharing,payment schedules, ownership of data, deliverables, and publicationarrangements. Establishes an optimum review process for allresearch related contracts and responsible for implementation andmanagement of the full life cycle of research contracts.
    • Assists the Director - Research Operations and Services and theChief Research Officer to administer research contractualactivities on a day-to-day basis, and assists the PMO in managingtime, cost and quality and overseeing, monitoring and reporting onthe progress of the Research Projects in Sidra.
    • Managesthe day-to-day formal correspondence related to Research Contractsby reviewing and commenting upon all proposed responses from alegal and contracts based prospective.
    • Where appropriateengages with internal and external parties and responsible fornegotiating business terms of Research contracts, aiming to obtainthe best possible conditions and terms for Sidra.
    • Establishes/maintains a live tracking system for contracts andresponsible for capturing intellectual property from researchprojects to ensure its impact can be realized in the future by acommercialization function.
    • Coordinates the management(assessment, protection, exploitation) of Sidra inventions andintellectual property, with internal (PIs, Legal, IPP etc.) andexternal (QF, Tech Transfer Offices) stakeholders.
    • Contributes to strategic planning, policies and procedures relatingto Tech Transfer activities.
    • Reviews and negotiates thetechnology transfer related agreements with potential licensees andco-inventors/co-owners, and provides Sidra leadership withmeaningful recommendations on the next course to action.
    • Constantly seeks to expand contractual arrangements, partnershipsand collaborations locally and internationally for the benefit ofSidra.
    • Supports the Ethics and Compliance functions indeveloping and establishing contracts-related policies, protocolsand procedures for good research governance and supports Officeactivities for the IRB, Grants and compliance, and ongoingoperations. This will include terms for engaging with local andinternational entities (collaborators, sample providers, sponsors,funders, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
    • Prepares and deliverstraining on relevant educational and compliance materials forinternal stakeholders.
    • Leads contractual meetings andnegotiations on behalf of Research as appropriate and representsSidra to external groups and committees as required, such as MOPHand research working groups.
    • Keeping abreast of allresearch ethics and governance activities, policies, procedures,legislation and other requirements
    • Complies with Sidraand departmental safety policy.
    • Provides practicalsupport in other areas as required.
    • Adheres toSidra's standards as they appear in the Code of Conductand Conflict of Interest policies
