Role Overview

Ooredoo is entering a new phase in its lifecycle where operational and commercial excellence has become critical for success. The urgency for change has become more heightened amidst increased competitive intensity across all markets in which Ooredoo operates.

The Group's ESS transformation programme must therefore ensure the successful delivery of the transformation in context of:


  • Alignment of the Program objectives with the overall Ooredoo strategy
  • Rapidly changing ICT environment
  • Management of executive and shareholder expectations across the OpCos throughout the transformation
  • Management of employee, customer and supplier expectations
  • Constant dynamics and local challenges in the economic, regulatory and legal environments


This position will work with the Ooredoo Group Leadership Team, the Opco CEOs and direct reports, the Assistant
Director: Data Governance will be accountable for the successful delivery of ESS Transformation Program by alignment of technology and digital strategies that will strengthen the ESS platform.

The program aims to implement a unified way of working across Finance, Sourcing and Human Resources with clear roles and responsibilities that eliminates redundancy and promotes efficiency.


The role will drive strategy for all aspects of data migration along with system implementor including data extraction, Upload, reconciliation, internal and external audits, and updating data policies, and working cross-functionally to create a data migration governance framework that assures Group and OpCo business users have access to trusted data.

The Director will be accountable to ensure global data governance methodology and implementation within the program.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the data governance for the ESS program and ensure adherence across the program.
  • Establish the necessary data governance for the program.
  • Effectively manage the availability, usability, integrity and security of ESS data
  • Develop data standards and policies that control data usage.
  • Ensure data is consistent, trustworthy and doesn't get misused.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements of data management are being met and adhered to across the program.
  • Raise awareness of data governance policies and guidelines
  • Periodically evaluate and improve data governance maturity.
  • Facilitate collaboration with IT, compliance, legal, security, and privacy teams to ensure data management practices are in alignment with regional and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure data is accurate and readily available to be used as an asset to support business decision making.
Qualification and Experience

  • 10 years of Senior Management Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of IT Transformation and ERP experience
  • Minimum 5 years in sector industry
  • Experience in data management, with recent experience establishing and leading data migration in business transformation initiative.
  • Expertise with data migration /data quality solution data catalog technology solutions, SAP BODS, IS, Informatica etc.
  • Handson usage and set up of data management best practices.
  • Well versed with the industry trends, technology, and products in the areas of data migration, and master data management.
  • Experience in gathering requirements from business functions, understanding data origin and use, and deploying efficient policies that bring clarity and trust.
  • Understanding on migrating Live and historical data
  • Work across diverse cultures and geographies
  • Proven track record of business improvement
  • High performing individual in a line management position, with strong standing to be perceived as peer for most management levels.
  • Understanding of functional areas and/or products associated with specific initiative.
  • Ability to drive change management work stream in a project context with limited guidance.
  • Sound business judgment to ensure cultural aspirations are well integrated in performance improvement activities.
  • Sufficient financial knowledge to understand business cases and consequences on P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Ability to coach and train, including conducting group and one to one training.
  • High level of energy and creativity for transformation, willingness to go the extra mile.
Core Competencies

  • University degree, Master' preferred
