Job Title:
Building Management System (BMS) Engineer


Job Summary:

  • As a Building Management System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building management systems (BMS) in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. You will ensure that these systems operate efficiently to maintain comfort, safety, and energy efficiency within the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to design BMS systems tailored to specific building requirements and objectives.
  • Oversee the installation and configuration of BMS hardware and software components, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and network infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement control strategies and logic using programming languages such as BACnet, Modbus, or proprietary protocols. Integrate BMS systems with other building systems such as HVAC, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of BMS systems to ensure proper functionality, performance, and compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for installed BMS systems, including monitoring system performance, diagnosing faults, and performing repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Optimize BMS systems for energy efficiency by analyzing data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing energysaving measures such as scheduling, setpoint adjustments, and demand response strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of BMS configurations, drawings, and software versions. Provide training and support to building operators and maintenance staff on the use and operation of BMS systems.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in building automation and controls to continuously improve skills and knowledge Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Proven experience in designing, installing, and commissioning BMS systems. Proficiency in programming languages and protocols commonly used in building automation. Familiarity with building codes, standards, and regulations related to building automation and energy management. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
