• Analyze well integrity problems andrecommend remedial measures by managing the process for datainvestigation to ensure the integrity of the wells, the safety ofpersonnel and the protection of the environment.
• Develop strategy and prepare programs to carry out well integrityinvestigations on critical wells to ensure a rigorous andcomprehensive assessment of well problems.
• Oversee theimplementation and quality control of critical activities byvisiting the well locations to ensure that well integrityinvestigations are performed efficiently and that any unforeseenoperational problems are managed correctly.
• Evaluatedrilling, work-over and completion proposals by giving particularattention to well integrity issues to ensure that the design of newand workover wells adequately address well integrity andabandonment requirements.
• Investigate and evaluateinnovative technology to improve well integrity diagnostics andremedial action and make recommendations for follow-uptrials.
• Manage the execution of innovative technologytrials and based upon the results make recommendations forcontracting the services to enhance well integrity operations andto reduce downtime and cost.
• Assess and rank theintegrity of the wells by evaluating wellbore cement quality,especially across reservoir and potential aquifer formations toensure the complete isolation between the formations and theenvironment.
• Manage the risk assessment process forhigh risk wells by coordinating and facilitating HAZOP workshops toensure that well integrity risks are systematically identified andrigorously managed.
• Establish the safe operatingenvelope (MAASP & MAWOP) for wells by taking into accountthe evaluation of annuli pressures, laboratory analysis of annulieffluents, corrosion reports and cased hole log analysis, to ensurethat wells are operated safely within approvedcriterion.
• Develop and mentor engineers as well asthe engineers having less experience to help achieve Corporateobjectives for Qatarization.
