Job Description:


  • Directly responsible for maintaining and implementing the approved Master Plan of the client in Qatar.
  • Work with assigned urban planning consultants to update client Master Plan(s) in a way that achieves the objectives of the Authority.
  • Provide solutions, from urban design perspective, for all issues related to plot amalgamation or subdivision that complies with the overall approved master plan requirements.
  • Ensure that all designs are in full compliance with the approved master plan requirements and regulations.
  • Contribute toward updating discipline master planning codes, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities in all areas of urban design and master planning.
  • Develop urban design and master planning concepts and independently translate them into strong and compelling graphic images.
  • Prepare and/or review feasibility studies, Preconcept and Concept masterplans, Design Development for Masterplans / Urban designs, based on the approved Scope of Services / work.
  • Assist in the review of technical aspects of bids from Consultant/ Contractors. Support projects in identifying and assessing capability resources and technical strengths of Consultant/ Contractors and vendors.
  • Review design, specifications and drawings related to the discipline of master planning / urban design submitted by Contractors and/ or Consultants.
  • Prepare / review Minutes of Meetings with consultants in relation to master planning generation / update in the Free Zones.
  • Provide technical support to projects on master planning and urban design related matters during construction, and commissioning stages of projects, which often involves site visits, reviews materials, mockups, shop drawings and submittals referred from projects.
  • Keep abreast of current technology and international master planning and urban design best practices as well as current regulations of local and national authorities.
  • Prepare and present technical papers to the line management for for conferences to promote design solutions and/or strategies, as and when needed.
  • Verify that the projects being designed comply with latest updates and planning requirements and are in line with Qatar National Masterplan and Qatar National Development Framework and Municipalities Spatial Development Plans and Qatar national planning framework.

Qualifications:


Essential

  • Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or an equivalent technical qualification
  • Minimum years relevant experience
