Job Title:
Planning Engineer


Overview:

As a Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in project management and execution by developing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and timelines.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning: Develop project plans, schedules, and timelines in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders. Ensure that project objectives, deliverables, and milestones are clearly defined and achievable.

Resource Allocation: Determine the necessary resources (e.g., manpower, equipment, materials) required for each project phase. Coordinate with procurement and HR departments to ensure timely availability of resources.

Schedule Management: Monitor project progress against established schedules and timelines. Identify potential delays or bottlenecks and propose corrective actions to mitigate risks and keep projects on track.

Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and identify potential project risks and constraints. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions to project timelines and budgets.

Cost Estimation: Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates. Monitor project expenses and track against budget allocations.

Progress Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders. Communicate project status, milestones achieved, and any deviations from the original plan. Ensure transparency and accountability in project reporting.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in project post-mortems and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and process enhancements to streamline project planning and execution.

Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, reports, and correspondence. Ensure that project documentation is organized, accessible, and up-to-date for reference and audit purposes.

Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams. Address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and management, preferably in the construction, engineering, or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office suite is a must.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards related to project management and engineering.
