Role Purpose:

To perform professional nursing care to patients while they are in the Radiology Department.

Responsible for stocking and keeping of records of all medications, contrast media, surgical tools and catheters used in the Department.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Duties:


  • Observe, report and record patient reaction to contrast, medication and procedures.
  • Start, adjust and discontinue routine intravenous injection upon the order of a physician and closely observes the progress of such infusion while the patient is in Radiology Department.
  • Act as liaison between the Radiology and Nursing units to achieve the best patient care to be given.
  • Observe and organizes sterilization of tools and equipment used in special procedures techniques.
  • Check and update emergency crash cart, store medical items, pharmacy items and instruments being used for special procedures.
  • To perform such job related duties not specifically enumerated in this job description, which may, from time to time be assigned by supervisors.
  • React to change productively and handle other essential tasks assigned.
  • Comply with Aspetar policies and procedures; and in particular infection control, safety and quality management.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Participates as required in the provision of an On-Call/ out of hours Radiology service. This includes involvement in the Radiology Service Roster during Eid vacations.

Reporting:


  • Provide monthly statistical reports detailing patient numbers, patient type, patient satisfaction and staff utilisation.
  • Provide finance department with monthly report on medical and pharmaceutical consumable usage.
  • Manage medical and pharmaceutical consumable Inventory and creation of purchase orders.
  • Develop and use computer based medical record system in conjunction with IT.

Strategic Input:


  • Submit annual group work plan based on nursing department strategic plan.
  • Provide direction and support to Aspetar's long term vision through involvement in planning and steering committees (i.e. HR, IT, Finance, etc.).
  • Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor.

Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job

  • 35 years of nursing experience of which a minimum of 1 year should be in a similar position / responsibility.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and to be adaptive to changes.
  • Ability to multitask and to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Education and Certification requirements

  • Bachelor or master's degree in science nursing.
  • Nursing Qualification.
  • Eligible for registration with appropriate licensing authority.

Skills:


  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outgoing, friendly, selfconfident and enjoys interacting with people of different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Articulate and demonstrates clear and proper enunciation when speaking.
  • English essential, Arabic advantageous.
  • Serviceoriented with a friendly and welcoming personality.
  • Ability to work shifts.
  • Consistently wellgroomed to project a positive image of Aspetar.
  • High level of personal hygiene.
  • Selfstarter and organized, ability to follow up and keep on top of existing workload
