- Oversee the processes for recruitment,appointment, reappointment, and promotion of full-time core andteaching faculty, and the recruitment and appointment of adjunctfaculty.
- Communicate and advise faculty on relevantuniversity policies and procedures, and assist the Associate Deanin tracking compliance.
- Oversee and coordinate a highvolume of administrative processes, including those related toresearch leave, faculty merit, overload teaching, and coursebanking.
- Facilitate faculty and student research, andoversee the research compliance function
- In consultation with the Dean, Associate Dean, andFaculty Chair, coordinate full-time faculty searches and overseerecruitment processes.
- Manage the appointment processesfor visiting faculty, including from the main campus in Washington,DC.
- Recruit and hire adjunct instructors, inconsultation with the Dean, Associate Dean, Faculty Chair, andcurricular field chairs.
- Work with the Faculty Chair andcurricular field chairs, and consult with the Dean, in managing theappointment of and providing support for visiting faculty,including from the main campus in Washington, DC.
- Collaborate with other units to ensure the effective academiconboarding and orientation of new faculty.
- Inconsultation with the Associate Dean and Faculty Chair, reviewfaculty travel requests.
- Oversee curricular activitiesfund and curricular group funding, ensuring usage of funds is inaccordance with their respective policies.
- Work with theDean, Associate Dean, and Faculty Chair to ensure that all facultymeet workload standards.
- Work with the Office of theDean, Faculty Chair, and Provost Office to ensure the timely andefficient initiation and completion of reappointment and promotionprocesses.
- Work with the Faculty Merit Committee toensure timely reporting of annual faculty merit scores; work withHR to issue merit letters.
- Facilitate faculty requestsfor research leaves and, in collaboration with the Associate Deanand Faculty Chair, make sabbatical recommendations to the Dean;oversee issuance of leave letters.
- Review researchproposals and outcome reports annually and make fundingrecommendations to the Dean.
- In collaboration withrelevant staff (e.g., Associate Director for Research Compliance,Assistant Director for Student Research, etc.), facilitate facultyand student research.
- Oversee the function of researchcompliance to ensure appropriate tracking, reporting, anddissemination of faculty and student researchoutcomes.
