We are hiring for your ability to effectively manage corporate communications activities and media relations. Working with Qatar based media organizations and global based media organizations, and other stakeholders such as government bodies.

Managing relationships in Qatar and globally, and portraying a positive image and reputation of the company among key internal/external stakeholders.

Plan and put into place, information and communication plans that present the airline externally and internally in a positive light.

Ensures good communication flow in Qatar, and globally, to portray a positive image and reputation. This position is developmental role to ensure the successful integration, business readiness and development within the company.


Operational:

  • Identify and explore story ideas, picture opportunities and maximize PR benefits within QR Group.
  • Leverage Qatar Airways news in Qatar and globally through media relationships and relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage and implement Qatar airways corporate communications plan in Qatar and globally, and work closely with relevant stakeholders such as government entities and ministries.
  • Protecting the company's image and reacting immediately in the case of negative public perception in the media or elsewhere.
  • Evaluate positive publicity opportunities within the media landscape or outside, in order to maximize awareness and coverage of the airline
  • Support the corporate communications team with writing press releases, speeches, editorials, and supervise the distribution of press information to the right channels.
  • Coordinate press events and conferences in Doha, organize media trips and other PR activities.

  • Take responsibility for owning personal development and growth of expertise.
  • Keep abreast with any market trends and development
  • Assist in the response to any emergency r a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries.

Qualifications:


Job specific skills:

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • PC literate with excellent skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, creativity and initiative
  • Attentive to details with effective time management and negotiations skills is highly required
  • Fluent knowledge of the company and its background
