• It is part of the role of the firesafety manager to make sure that all fire and life safety equipmentare where they are meant to be at all times (within allproperties/buildings).
• He/she also ensures thatall fire protection systems like smoke detectors, fire alarms,sprinklers, etc. are all installed properly and also functional atall times.
• In a bid to check the readinessand/or preparedness of fire prevention/protection systems, themanager might organize and conduct firedrills/simulations.
• His/her work descriptionalso involves making sure that (fire) emergency procedures are putin place and made as clear as possible so that in any givenestablishment, the occupants would know how to go about things incase of an emergency.
• The safety manager isalso basically responsible for working closely with external fireservice departments so as to be able to build a strong and feasibleemergency response plan.
