Job Summary Responsible for diagnosingpresence and stage of diseases using laboratory techniques andpatient specimens. Job Responsibilities 1 Assists in developing themedical laboratory strategic plan and objectives. Reviews andapproves new/revised Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)pertaining to pathology. Ensures that policies are implemented andfollowed by the staff. Reports to the laboratory head and acceptsdelegation as and when required. Analyses, summarizes, and endorsesregular operational & performance reports, including thetechnical evaluation of instruments & kits.

Provides expertclinical and/or surgical pathology guidance to referring physiciansand patients Directs laboratory testing by technologists; reviewsand interprets test results; decide, requests further tests ifrequired.

Formulates an effective and efficient quality assuranceprogram(s) for the laboratory, including creating appropriatedocumentation and performing periodic reviews. Participates inaudits or reviews conducted by internal auditing teams,accreditation bodies, and national healthcare committees (e.g.,MoPH).
