The applicant is expected to (not limited to):

Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and skills that are directly relatable to the center's work, by providing examples of previous contributions to research or consulting projects in freight transportation planning and policy, logistics and supply chain related, operations, economic impact analysis, or other related areas, which is tailored to the needs of QTTSC, Qatar University and the State of Qatar.
Engage in outstanding scholarly activities leading to national, regional and international recognition.
Promote partnerships and support collaboration with external organizations inside and outside Qatar.
Conduct specialized workshops such as short courses or seminars on contemporary issues related to supply chain and logistics (transportation engineering)
Teach one course per academic semester.
Supervise graduate (M.S. and Ph.

D.) theses.

Assist in preparing the lab budget, annual reports, and strategic plan.
Assist in the acquisition and management of research equipment and infrastructure.
Disseminate research results through internationally recognized peer reviewed high impact journals, educational programs and presentations.

Qualifications:

Evidence of active research, service and scholarly activities.
Evidence of obtaining research grants from external stakeholders such as government agencies or industries.
Record of strong peerreviewed publication in highimpact journals.
Research experience in one or more of the following areas: freight transportation planning and policy, logistics, operations, economic impact analysis, or other related areas, analysis and intelligent support for decisionmaking; modelling, optimization and evaluation in smart transport; integrated urban passenger and freight/marine/air/rail transportation systems.
Experience in supervising research work of graduate and undergraduate students.
Knowledge of current trends in the professional practices in the field.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Teaching experience at tertiary level.
Familiar with educational technologies used in higher education.

Successful applicants should be able to:

Be able to adopt and develop a "student centered" approach to teaching and learning,
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department.
Develop expertise in using course Learning Management Systems software such as Blackboard to support taught courses and assessment,
Contribute to collaborative research, consulting and short courses in conjunction with local industries,
Contribute to a collegiate atmosphere in the Center, Department and College, and
Advise undergraduate students and be involved effectively in service duties such as capstone project reviews, design juries, committee work and curriculum development
