A Waterpark Director of Operations is responsible for the effective operational management of the Waterpark so Heads of Department achieve and exceed their revenue and Guest satisfaction targets.


What will I be doing?


As Waterpark Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of the experience for all Guest who visit the Waterpark.

This position ensures Guest Safety by managing the Operation team, rides, slides and attractions, responding to emergencies, giving clear directions and instructions, communicating with other departments regarding operational needs, attending and delivering on going training.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


  • Manage daily operation of the park, including Managers, Assistant Managers, Team Leaders, Lifeguards and Admissions supervision.
  • Review departmental policies, procedures and performance standards to ensure these are up to date, correct and propose changes as appropriate to ensure high levels of customer service and safety.
  • Ensure any service delivery deficiencies are resolved and identify any trends and share observations and suggestions and suggestion with their line Manager and peers.
  • Motivate team members through the effective implementation of incentive and recognition and rewards.
  • Openly communicate appropriate and useful information through various channels to include department meetings and briefings.
  • Compile duty schedules for their area on a tasked time ensuring that annual leave plans support operational readiness and ensure sufficient off to Team Members.
  • Perform preoperational inspection of rides, slides and attractions and communicate any items of note
  • Ensure guest, Team Members and contractor safety at all times as it relates to park attractions
  • Ensure that all manufacturer guidelines and SOPs regarding ride dispatch and guest safety are followed
  • Focus on guest satisfaction and interaction within the Waterpark team along with Managers and frontline supervision
  • Mentor and develop subordinates
  • Collaborate on strategic planning with the General Manager of the Waterpark and implement plans
  • Ensure their area meets financial targets through tracking expenditures and revenue and as appropriate taking action to affect either.
  • Foster a harmonious atmosphere among Team Members in their area and brings team members together through team buildings.

A Waterpark Director of Operations serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members.

To successfully fill this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:


  • Previous waterpark or theme park management experience
  • International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP) Instruction or Instructor Trainer License or the ability to attain this within the first 6 Months of employment
  • Previous guest service experience
  • Preferably International Lifeguard Training Program or similar program experience
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high level of perform and exceed targets
  • Accountable and resilient
  • Ability to work under pressure
