Job Purpose:


  • Provide support to dental professionals and ensure smooth operations within a dental practice. Assist with various patient care and administrative tasks, contributing to the delivery of highquality dental care and exceptional patient experiences.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s):


  • The role requires to (1) handle sensitive administrative issues associated with health care needs and possibly disputes; (2) actively participate in all for the health promotion programs (3) participate in regular internal, government and other external audits.

Key Job Accountabilities-I:


  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures. Assist the dentist during procedures by passing instruments, providing suction, and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations, treatments, and procedures. Ensure patients' comfort and address their concerns or questions. Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanour while attending to patients' needs.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols, including proper handling and sterilization of instruments, equipment, and surfaces. Maintain a clean and organized dental operatory and sterilization area.
  • Assist in dental radiograph (Xrays) as directed by the dentist, following radiation safety guidelines.
  • Accurate and efficient gathering of patient information, treatment details, and medical histories in the dental practice management software. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.

Key Job Accountabilities - II:


  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring and restocking dental supplies, materials, and equipment. Prepare and maintain dental materials, instruments, and trays for use during procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments and coordinating with patients for followup visits. Provide administrative support, such as handling patient inquiries, and maintaining patient records.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, postoperative care, and preventive measures. Provide oral health instructions and recommendations as directed by the dentist.
  • Collaborate effectively with the dental team, including dentists, senior dental assistant, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient care.
  • Maintain all logbooks related to dental procedures/inventory. Prepare data to generate reports, charts, and presentation. Assist in identifying information processing problems and escalate it to the senior dental assistant.

Qualifications:


  • HND or Diploma in Dentistry, Medical, Nursing or Diploma as Dental Assistant.
  • Require Dental Assistant license from the country of origin and license to practice from Ministry of Public Health or should be eligible to get licensed within 6 months of joining.
  • Basic Life Support and CPR certification.
  • Experienced in dental radiography (Xrays) following radiation safety guidelines.

Knowledge and/or Experience:


  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
  • Proficiency in dental software systems and electronic health records.
  • Very good knowledge of standard computer software.
