• Safety and security are a primaryresponsibility for all Laboratory employees. Maintains requiredsafety and security training, assures safety and securitycompliance, and makes safety and security an integral part of everytask, including taking the necessary steps to stop work ifcontinuing the job is unsafe or compromisessecurity.
• Provides waste-related field/facilityoperations including processing and/or loadingactivities.
• Ensures proper documentation andhandling of solid, liquid, hazardous, radioactive, and mixedwastes.
• Ensures compliance with applicableregulatory requirements associated with best safety, environmental,inspection, packaging, and transportation activities in relation towaste management.
• Inspects waste storage areasand containers and serves as point of contact regarding wastemanagement issues.
• Performs expert technicalanalyses and/or reviews of characterization data collected from abroad range of waste characterization techniques to determinewhether waste meets shipping, acceptance, and/or processingcriteria.
• Develops and approves waste-relatedpolicies and procedures and facilitates comprehensiveresolutions.
