Nestled in the heart of Doha, Qatar, Richmond International School opened its doors in 2019.

We are a dynamic, progressive and contemporary international school that offers a broad, balanced and rigorous Edexcel based curriculum, spanning sciences, arts and humanities.

We draw from the very best of the British, American and Finnish educational systems, to name but a few. We require additional teachers as we are expanding.


Purpose of the Position

  • To offer support to the learning, pastoral and cocurricular needs of individual students through the school's pastoral policy and core values.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
In addition to the general duties of a teacher at Richmond International School, the post holder is expected to:

  • Teach an allocation of lessons as required
  • Plan, develop, and deliver lessons plans aligned with the School's curriculum
  • Manage the academic and administrative activities of classes taught.
  • Meeting requirements for the student assessment.
  • Record evaluate and report on student development.
  • Provide timely feedback to parents on student's progress.
  • Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Department and wider School through sharing resources and good practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching, mentoring and active participation in continuing professional development
  • Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of children
  • Support the School's aims and objectives for teaching and learning
  • Adhere to and promote all School policies and procedures

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience - Essential

  • A bachelor's degree in English or B.ED (major in English)
  • Native level of English fluency
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities (professional, amateur or voluntary)
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Proficiency with MS Team / Zoom
  • Minimum 2 years' teaching experience in British Curriculum as an English teacher.

Knowledge and Experience - Desirable

  • Recognized teaching qualification, such as a PGCE
  • Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice
  • High level of IT literacy including use of online learning platforms.

  • Be capable of delivering inspirational and informative lessons

- have excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with pupils, parents, staff and visitors

Remuneration
Monthly Salary 5,000 QAR - 10,000 QAR

Other benefits are based on the Qatari labour law


Other Information
Must be under 50 to comply with government registration requirements.

Sponsorship may be available for the position.


The School reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of the School's business.


In exceptional circumstances, the post holder will be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities of a similar post in order to support workload peaks, skill shortages, to ensure priorities are met.

This will be sensitive to available resources and individual skills and will be generally in the same area.
