• Evaluates and interpretsdisability documentation to establish serviceeligibility.
• Review and interpret diagnosticevaluations, including medical documentation, psychological andneurological reports and the additional academic supportreport.
• Meet with students to conduct intakeinterviews and develop accommodations in compliance with theUniversity policy.
• Formulate accommodationplans that delineate accommodations, which are in conformance withthe ISNSC guidelines.
• Ensures compliance withthe requirements of the Qatari laws related to people withdisability by monitoring successful implementation ofindividualized accommodations.
• Supervises staffwithin the Accommodation and Community Outreach section and ensuresquality disability services aredelivered.
• Provides professional developmentfor the Accommodation and Community Outreach sectionstaff.
• Creates, plans and implements universityrecruiting activities and materials designed to attract studentswith disabilities.
• Promote access for studentswith disabilities to programs and activities to insure fullparticipation in the QU activities and educationalprocess.
• Maintain awareness of best practicesfor students with Special needs in higher education and be informedof new assistive technologies, which support increased independenceof students with disabilities.
• Apply datacollection systems to update necessary information in a timelyfashion.
• Develop and implement communityoutreach plan to assist students with disability as they make thetransition from high school to a college or to the jobmarket.
• Actively educate the QU community aboutdisability issues, law and regulations and academic accommodationfor students with disability.
• Participate inresearch on disability studies, UDL, and assistivetechnology.
• Performs other related duties asassigned.
