About the role


You will responsible to ensure Corporate Services adheres to legal standards (Laws and Regulations) as well as in-house policies and procedures.

The role will be responsible for setting standards and monitoring enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of Corporate Services business activities as well as providing guidance on compliance matters to the division.

To develop, establish and oversee control systems to prevent, mitigate or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.

To establish and deliver training to Corporate Services staff to educate staff in their responsibilities and duties of Corporate Compliance.



Accountabilities:


Strategic:

  • Preserve the company's integrity by making sure the division stays on a lawful and ethical course.
  • Preserve the corporate image of the Airline by ensuring that there are no violations of laws and regulations when carry out operational responsibilities.
  • Oversee the compliance of industry recognized & approved standards and best practices including specific Facilities and Property Management related requirements of Qatar Airways division.
  • Develop and maintain internal control framework.
  • Assess the business' future ventures to identify possible compliance risks

Operational:

  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or mitigate violations of legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and oversee control systems to ensure compliance with data protection requirements in line with General Data Protection Regulations and Qatar Law 13 and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Drive audits for successful recertifications of ISO 41001:2018, ISO 55001:2014 and ISO 22301:201
  • Evaluate the efficiency of compliance controls and improve them continuously.
  • Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or nonconformity issues.
  • Draft, modify and recommend changes to company/divisional policies. Implement approved departmental policies.
  • Guide & provide the framework to ensure compliance and ensure relevant stakeholders are updated as deemed necessary.
  • Collaborate with QR Legal and Compliance team to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations.
  • Management of an updated compliance monitoring manual published by Legal & Compliance Department Execution of oversight processes related to technology policy issues management, technology control issues management, and technology risk and control selfassessment issues management.
  • Ensure continued feedback system to the accountable Senior/Executive Manager in regards to adequacy of the compliance system ensuring that deficiencies and noncompliances are identified, root causes analyzed and appropriate corrective/preventive & remedial actions are promptly published and implemented.
  • Prepare, review, amend and implement, compliance audit plans. Review the plan with line manager every quarter and align as needed.
  • Manage the process for the timely generation of Audit reports for submission to Management including to Stakeholders and Authorities as required. Liaise with Department staff for planning and scheduling of the annual compliance system audits.
  • Review Technical evaluation criteria drafted by user department to ensure it is fit for purpose and compliant with company policies before the tender documents are submitted to GTC/Procurement.
  • Participate in the Technical evaluation of tenders.
  • Be the SPOC for division's internal/external audits
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice and training.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well evolving best practices in compliance control.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
  • Advise technical professionals on the development or use of environmental compliance or reporting tools.

  • Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues.
  • Conduct environmental audits to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
  • Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
  • File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications

About you


Qualifications and Experience:
Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with minimum 8 years of jobrelated experience.
  • Proven experience as Compliance Manager.
  • Fluent in English language
  • Indepth knowledge of the industry's (built environment, transport, property and facilities management) standards and regulations
  • An analytical mind able to "see" the complexities of procedures and regulations
  • Able to adopt Qatar Airways' and departmental policies quickly to reduce risk to the division and the company
  • Valid Qatari or a transferable driving license
  • Excellent knowledge of reportin
