    This role is responsible for outdoor cluster-level design and optimization for 4G, 3G, 2G, Microwave, WiMax and other standard radio access network, to ensure optimum quality and network performance

    In addition is responsible for deploying active elements / equipment for expansion, optimization at cluster-level in outdoor standard radio network.

    Context
    This role supports the functioning of radio access networks department by the design, deployment and service assurance for radio access networks that includes Mobile 2G, 3G and 4G, Microwave and WiMAXOverview

    • Design of standard outdoor radio access network such as 4G, 3G, 2G in collaboration with system-level architects / design engineers
    • Reviewing RF Survey Report and creating RF Design (antenna height, azimuth, tilting) for new and upgraded sites
    • Preparing Site/Cell Data Fill as initial database configuration for upgraded sites and mobile shelters. Preparing database for rehoming and reparenting activities
    • Ensure proper acceptance and handover of rolled-out network to Operation and Maintenance teams
    • Optimization of standard outdoor radio access network at cluster-level in collaboration with NOC, wherever applicable
    • Assure outdoor radio network coverage and capacity.
    • Study network expansion / technology upgrade issues and make appropriate recommendations to increase efficiency of networks infrastructure
    • Supporting system design Team for new features implementations
    • Control the installation, configuration and commissioning of network elements / nodes, as per design
    • Ensure timely monitoring and management of KPIs in order to meet defined targets, and manage timely reporting of KPIs to management.
    • Support National special events and optimization requests with regard to coverage and capacity
    • Communicate periodic status reports to management and escalate any potential issues

    Minimum Experience and Essential Knowledge

    • 4 years experience in telecoms engineering with significant skills in radio access networks design and optimization
    • Proven knowledge in the effective optimisation and deployment of radio networks
    • Strong knowledge of telecommunication networks used by Qtel and others
    Minimum Entry Qualifications

    • A Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications engineering, or equivalent
    • Fluent in spoken and written English
