Our Alumniare leaders in the local creative economy working in QM QF theDesign District in agencies and studios in ministries and asacademics and freelancers. Many alumni have continued theirresearch and academic journeys attending some of the top graduateprograms around the world.
The VCUarts QatarGraphic Design DesignerinResidence Program brings practitionersand/or design academics to work within the Department of GraphicDesign as designersinresidence. This international fellowship aimsto bring the best in talent from an international context tobenefit our Graphic Design students in VCUartsQatar.
DesignersinResidence engage in researchexhibit mentor and teach within the program and along with thefaculty students and visiting designers help to create a communityof designers engaged in scholarly activity andresearch.
The Designer in Residence willbe a bilingual or multilingual Typography expert holding MA or MFAand possibly PhD with industry and university teaching experiencerobust exhibition and publication portfolio and a familiarity withthe MENA region.
The DesignerinResidencewill teach within the Graphic Design Department in the Fall 2024and Spring 2025 semesters and work on Typographic projects thatwill culminate in an exhibition/publication ideally for alocal/regional and international audience possibly in collaborationwith GDES faculty and involvingstudents.
