• Reach an informed diagnosisbased on scientific knowledge and the patient's medicalhistory
• Prescribe and interpret lab tests toobtain more information for underlying infections orabnormalities
• Prescribe medications or drugsand provide comprehensive instructions foradministration
• Collaborate with otherphysicians, physician assistants and nurses to form a highperforming medical team
• Examine and providetreatments to injuries and refer patients to other physicians whenneeded (ophthalmologists, orthopedists, neurologistsetc.)
• Keep records of patients'diseases, operations or other significant information (e.g.allergic episodes)
• Cultivate a climate of trustand compassion for patients
• Remain up-to-speedwith developments and best practices in medicine by attendingconferences and seminars
