Georgetown University inQatar invites applications for one (1) senior core associate orprofessor position in American Politics.

Core faculty positions arefull-time positions designed to replicate the institutionalcommitment to academic freedom and professional opportunitiesassociated with tenure-track and tenured appointments, incompliance with Georgetown University's academic governanceguidelines.

The successful candidate will have demonstratedexcellence in teaching and research. They will be able to teachundergraduate courses on the US political system and US foreignpolicy. This position may also include teaching at the graduatelevel.

We welcome a range of substantive research specialties,including but not limited to, American political institutions,American political processes, American foreign policy, Americanpolitical thought, race and politics, and gender politics.

Theability to teach an undergraduate course on Scope and Methods inPolitical Science will be an advantage, as will the ability toteach, and mentor, quantitative research in politics andinternational relations.

Successful candidates are expected tocontribute to a climate that embraces excellence and diversity,with a commitment to teaching and mentoring that will enhance thework of GU-Q and attract and retain a diverse student body.

Faculty atGeorgetown University in Qatar are eligible to apply for GU-QFaculty Research Funds and the Qatar National ResearchFund's Qatar Academic Research Grant and National ResearchProgram.

Colleagues with faculty status are eligible to apply forperiodic research sabbaticals.
