    Corporate Services Manager, job grade Higher ExecutiveOfficer (HEO).

    • *British Embassy Doha** 72 of us, of manydifferent nationalities and backgrounds, work together at theBritish Embassy in Doha to make the United Kingdom more prosperousand more secure, and to give consular assistance to Britishcitizens who need their Government's help. The CorporateServices section is at the heart of the Embassy, responsible formany operations from recruitment, IT, finance, estates managementand so on.

    *Main purpose of job**: To provideleadership and motivation to the Corporate Services Team,developing an efficient and professional team that delivers highquality support services to all users of the Embassy platform. Youwill be report directly to the Deputy Head of Mission and beresponsible for recommending, and implementing cost-effectiveinnovations to the Ambassador and Senior Leadership team, toachieve value for money and greater efficiency across your team andthe wider Embassy. You will lead on HR issues, and coordinaterecruitment across the Embassy to ensure vacancies are filled in atimely manner. You will support cross Embassy work to promotewellbeing of all staff working at the British Embassy, promotinginclusivity, engagement and challenge.

    *Roles andresponsibilities
    : You will ensure the diverse needs of differentUK government departments operating on the Embassy platform aremet, and provide inspiring and inclusive leadership of theCorporate Services Team. You will use your strong interpersonal andmanagement skills to support your team's delivery ofconsistently high standards across finance, procurement, HR, estatemanagement and logistics. Developing strong relationships withcorporate services colleagues in the FCDO in London and in ourservice hubs, as well as with your counterparts in the region andacross the FCDO global network. You will be the senior lead on allthings corporate supporting the Ambassador and Deputy Head ofMission and ensuring they have full visibility of all corporatedelivery. You will lead to drive forward change, improving theeffectiveness and efficiency of the Embassy's operations,increasing output and improving financial and proceduralcompliance. You will often be required to resolve complex technicaland/or managerial problems and will have considerable discretion totake decisions on the direction of corporate services work acrossthe Embassy.


    Your main duties will include:

    Cross-EmbassyLeadership
    : working with the Ambassador and the Senior LeadershipTeam you will oversee implementation of centrally led Corporatepriorities, engaging colleagues in the FCDO to ensure the Embassyhas the staff, resources and policies in place to deliver changingpolitical priorities. You will play a central role as member of anumber of embassy-wide Committees, leading by example to ensurefull participation from the Corporate Services Team and across thewider Embassy. - Strategic Budget Management
    : you will ensureall spend delivers value for money in support of Embassyobjectives, with responsibility for overseeing all financial bidsand returns and, where necessary, making recommendations on themost effective use of limited resources. You will provide strategicguidance to the Finance Manager to ensure accurate forecasting andspend (F/Y 23/24 budget of £2.4m); you will also supportthe Finance Manager to at the monthly budget review meetings withthe Ambassador; and ensure financial compliance, including throughspot checks and challenging suppliers. - Estate Management
    :you will provide leadership and strategic oversight to the EstatesTeam and Facilities Management Provider to ensure the embassymaximises the benefits of our buildings and wider estate, whilealso meeting health and safety standards. You will ensure all UKbased staff are housed appropriately, in line with the ResidentialAccommodation Policy and provide senior oversight of the facilitiesmanagement contract (FY 23/24 value of £2.4m) ensuringvalue for money and high service standards are maintained by thecontractor. - Human Resources Leadership**: you will provideevid
