• Overseeing and coordinating teamsof surgeons and nurses in the operatingtheater.
• Operating microscopes for surgeries toperform microsurgeries.
• Ordering, performing,and interpreting results of diagnostic tests, such as MRIs, PETscans, and CT scans.
• Assessing and diagnosingpatients, prescribing treatments, and monitoring thepatients' progress.
• Meeting withfamilies of patients in surgery and keeping themupdated.
• Handling unscheduled emergencysurgeries.
• Working with psychiatrists,therapists, and neurologists, and consulting with otherdepartments.
• Performing basic administrativeand business tasks, such as keeping records, writing prescriptions,and filling out paperwork.
• Keeping up with newdiscoveries and attending academicconferences.
• A Medical degree and thesuccessful completion of a residency and fellowship inNeurosurgery.
• A license and certification topractice Neurosurgery.
• The ability to read andinterpret diagnostic reports.
• A thoroughknowledge of human anatomy and microsurgerytechniques.
• Excellent hand dexterity andhand-eye coordination.
• Strong communication andinterpersonal skills.
• The ability to handlephysically and mentally demanding tasks, and work under intensepressure and stress.
• The flexibility to handlea constantly shifting schedule.
