Linum Consult's client is a major energy company. They are currently seeking a Chief Asset Management Officer to manage all the operating assets of the company. This role will be based at their head office in Doha, Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring the proper flow of information between the operating assets and your office, and managing the information flow to and from the company's head office
  • Ensuring that the operation of the assets under your management follows the business objectives and overall business strategy
  • Coordinating with the Business Development and M&A teams to assist and provide inputs for the facilitation of preparing new bids
  • Understanding the important factors behind the company's financial and nonfinancial performance
  • Understanding the economic, political, social, competitive, and regulatory factors influencing business operations and business planning processes, and making sure that such factors are reflected in the KPIs
  • Investigating competitor strategies, product/service offerings, and key differentiators
  • Utilising industry information to improve business performance
  • Staying abreast of technological changes impacting the industry, especially in terms of operational improvement of asset performance
  • Seeking ways to create new areas of competitive advantage for the business
  • Building relationships within the organisation and establishing credibility as a trusted advisor for colleagues and other stakeholders

PROFILE

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, majoring in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power, ideally with a second degree in Business Administration
  • At least 1520 years' experience in Operations and Maintenance, with 810 years spent in an O&M management role (asset level), followed up with an asset management role at portfolio level
  • Strong technical understanding of assets and energy and utilities investments
  • Excellent commercial and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work in a multinational environment, with frequent international travel
  • Fluent in English
